There’s a premarital agreement between actress Barbie Hsu and her husband.
South Korean DJ-producer Koo Jun Yup revealed that he and late Taiwanese and Meteor Garden actress Barbie Hsu signed a prenup agreement.
Barbie Hsu passed away at the age of 48 due to complications from influenza and pneumonia. The Taiwanese actress’ death left many devastated and that certainly includes her husband South Korean DJ-producer Koo Jun Yup, also known as DJ Koo.
Last February 8, Koo marked their third anniversary by sharing a post with a caption that said, “Love you forever”. He tagged Barbie Hsu’s Instagram account in the post.
With a career that spanned for decade, Hsu was able to amass great wealth. According to a report, a representative from a Taiwanese land administration firm revealed that her estate tax is estimated to be around NT$ 45.23 million (US $1.37 million) or approximately 80,165,044.65 in Philippine pesos.
Her husband also has a considerable wealth. DJ Koo owns an upscale residence in Seoul’s Hannam-dong worth approximately 2.9 billion Korean won. He also has other lucrative ventures as a DJ, artist, and NFT creator.
Recently, he confirmed that he and Barbie have signed a prenup agreement. He confirmed this amid the issue regarding the multimillion-dollar fortune left by the actress. However, despite this confession, a legal conflict arose as it was found that the agreement was not legally notarized.
Should the signed prenup be considered invalid and null, the money and real estate properties left by the late actress will all be given to Koo. He spoke about this and said:
“All of that legacy was saved through the sweat and tears of Hee-won while she was alive to protect her beloved family, so I plan to give all authority over me to my mother-in-law. I plan to take legal action through a lawyer to protect my children until they become adults so that bad people cannot touch them.”
