Man Hires Nanny; Her Salary Is Higher Than His Dependent Live-in Partner’s Income
A man hired a nanny whose salary is higher than his live-in partner, whom he claimed refused to do household chores.
Recently, Leading-Target-361, a Reddit user, shared his frustration about his live-in girlfriend, whom he claimed refused to do household chores. Feeling fed up, he decided to hire a nanny and made sure her salary was higher than what his girlfriend was earning.
In the post, the man explained that his girlfriend worked from home and had moved in with him. However, despite spending all day at home, she insisted on receiving “princess treatment” and refused to contribute to housework.
This left him to juggle his job, long commutes, and household chores on his own.
One Saturday, he asked her to do the laundry since she had the day off, but she refused, saying she wasn’t his maid. Frustrated by her attitude, he had an idea of hiring someone who would actually help.
The guy then hired a nanny with a monthly salary of P25,000, which was even higher than his girlfriend’s P20,000 paycheck. The move infuriated his girlfriend, who started feeling insecure about the nanny constantly being around.
She also became resentful that he was willing to pay a stranger more than what she earned. According to him, she would often cry over feeling small and jealous, but at the same time, she still refused to put in any effort to help out.
Eventually, the constant fights led her to pack her bags and leave. Looking back, the man felt no regret. He pointed out that his girlfriend had never contributed to household expenses and spent most of her time in bed working or on her phone.
The man was relieved after his live-in partner was gone.
