Jeepney Passenger Arrested After Causing Trouble Over Loud Horns
LOUD HORN NOISE – A jeepney passenger runs amok after losing his temper over loud motorcycle horn noise in Divisoria, Manila.
On early Sunday morning (February 9, 2025), a 39-year-old man was arrested in Divisoria, Manila, after losing his temper over loud vehicle horns and attacking a motorist.
According to the Moriones Police investigation, the suspect became irritated by the noise of horns from motorcycles and jeepneys while riding a jeepney himself. Frustrated, he started a heated argument with a motorist, which eventually escalated into a fistfight.

Other motorists quickly reported the incident to the police. Fortunately, officers had just finished conducting an operation nearby and were able to respond immediately.
When the police arrived, the suspect claimed that someone pretending to be an officer was attacking him. Even after the police identified themselves, he refused to calm down and continued to confront the motorist aggressively.
During the arrest, the suspect attempted to grab an officer’s firearm and even punched a responding policeman. As he was being handcuffed, he struck the officer’s face, forcing the police to defend themselves before successfully restraining him.

A video also showed the suspect spitting at another officer while being escorted to the police station. When questioned, he explained that he was dealing with personal issues, which caused him to lose his temper over the motorist honking.
The jeepney passenger expressed frustration, saying the driver kept honking despite the jeepney already being ahead.
He also denied trying to take the officer’s gun, insisting that he only pretended to reach for it to keep the officer alert.
The suspect is now in police custody and facing multiple charges, including alarm and scandal, resistance and disobedience to authorities, usurpation of authority, and direct assault.
