Construction Worker Arrested in Valenzuela City Drug Bust
A construction worker was arrested by the police authorities during a drug buy-bust operation for selling illegal drugs.
The illegal drug problem in the Philippines is a serious issue that affects the lives of many people. Drug abuse has a major impact on communities, leading to higher crime rates such as theft and domestic violence.
It also causes problems for families, often leading to broken relationships and deeper poverty. Unfortunately, many people who struggle with addiction do not have access to proper rehabilitation because treatment centers are overcrowded or lack funding.
Recently, a 27-year-old construction worker found himself back behind bars after being arrested in a police buy-bust operation in Barangay Veinte Reales, Valenzuela City. Authorities confiscated approximately 50 grams of illegal substance worth P340,000 during the operation.
Police investigations revealed the suspect’s involvement in the illegal drug trade, primarily targeting other construction and factory workers in Valenzuela, Caloocan, and nearby areas in Bulacan.
“Nasundan natin ‘yung mga activities niya at talagang involved dito sa drug pushing,” Valenzuela City chief of Police Col. Nixon Cayaban.
According to law enforcement, the suspect operated across multiple areas, frequently distributing drugs in locations close to his residence and beyond.
Further details emerged that the suspect had previous drug-related cases in Manila and Caloocan, leading to prior incarcerations. Despite his history and the evidence found, the individual denied any involvement in selling illegal drugs.
“Itong suspek natin ay taga ibang barangay so karamihan nung mga parokyano niya is of course dahil dito sa Veinte Reales malapit sa Bulacan ito ‘yung mga karatig na sinusuplayan niya at the same time Valenzuela and Caloocan,” Cayaban said.
The authorities have filed charges against the suspect for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act.
