Toni Gonzaga Tears Up at Mikee Morada’s Story About Their Third Miscarriage W/ Alex
TONI GONZAGA – Actress and host Toni Gonzaga got emotional as Mikee Morada shared the heartbreaking story of his and Alex’s third miscarriage during their candid conversation on Toni Talks.
Toni Gonzaga featured her brother-in-law, Mikee Morada, on her talk show, Toni Talks, where he opened up about Alex Gonzaga’s third pregnancy loss.
During the emotional interview, Toni asked Mikee if this recent miscarriage was the most painful experience for them. “Now, itong third one na nangyari nung December, ito ba yung pinakamasakit?” she inquired.
Mikee Morada recounted how the pregnancy came as a surprise, sharing that he and Alex had not planned for it. “Kami ni Catherine… nung nalaman naming pregnant siya, kasi feeling namin nabuo ‘to nung birthday ni Mommy Pinty sa Singapore. Hindi namin talaga akalain, wala talaga kaming plano,” he said.
After discovering Alex was pregnant, they immediately consulted their OB, who initially confirmed the pregnancy was progressing well. However, during the third week, their doctor informed them of a blighted ovum. Determined to explore all options, the couple sought a second opinion.
Mikee shared how their visit to another OB turned their hopes around. “The week after, nagpunta kami, pagdating namin dun sa ultrasound na yun, yun na yung pang-apat. May bata sa loob, may baby,” he revealed. Hearing their baby’s heartbeat for the first time was an overwhelming moment for Mikee. “Naiyak ako nung narinig ko yung heartbeat. First time kong nakarinig ng heartbeat,” he admitted.
However, their joy was short-lived as they later learned their baby’s heartbeat was dangerously low at 65 bpm. Mikee described how they rushed to the hospital in hopes of saving their baby. “Ginawa namin lahat,” he said, his voice heavy with emotion.
As Mikee detailed their heartbreaking journey, Toni became visibly emotional, moved by the couple’s resilience and their shared experience of loss.
