Award-winning actress Gloria Romero’s career spanned nearly eight decades. At the age of 91, she died of an undisclosed cause. Her death was confirmed by her niece, Lovely Rivero II, on her Facebook page.

In a previous article, Romero’s daughter shared her wake details. The wake will be held at Arlington Memorial Chapel, Hall A, on Araneta Avenue, Quezon City. A public viewing was also scheduled. The late actressā€™ fans and supporters can pay their respects on Monday and Tuesday between 9 AM and 1 PM.

In 1933 in Denver, Colorado, Romero was born to Filipino Pedro Galla and American woman, Mary Borrego. She attended Mabini Elementary School during her elementary years Riverview High School in Mabini, Pangasinan for her secondary.

She met Juancho Gutierrez while doing a movie and this is how their love blossomed until they married each other. Romero started her career in show business as an “extra” in Sampaguita Pictures.

Her talent was noticed in Kasintahan sa Pangarap (1951) and in the said year, more opportunities followed for her. She landed a role in Bernardo Carpio, starring real-life couple Cesar Ramirez and Alicia Vergel; in Dugong Bughaw, with Norma Vales and Tessie Martinez; and Rebecca.
