Vic Sotto and Darryl Yap arrived at Muntinlupa RTC on Friday morning
Eat Bulaga host Vic Sotto and director Darryl Yap attend the hearing of the petition for writ of habeas data on January 17, 2025.
Direk Darryl had an explosive teaser release on January 1 for his movie The R@pist of Pepsi Paloma. The less-than-a-minute teaser became controversial because Bossing Vic’s name was mentioned.
This was regarding the r@pe case filed by the late Softdrink Beauty Pepsi Paloma but it was withdrawn. The issue created a loud buzz in the entertainment industry back in the 80s and the movie prompted a new round of buzzing.
On January 9, Vic Sotto filed 19 counts of cyber libel against Darryl Yap. The veteran comedian-host also filed a petition for a writ of habeas data.
On Friday, a hearing was scheduled for the aforementioned petition. Based on the report from GMA News Online, Bossing Vic and Direk Darryl arrived at the Muntinlupa Regional Trial Court Branch 205Â early morning.
Reporters from various media outlets were already waiting outside the building. The Eat Bulaga host arrived with his wife Pauleen Luna who has expressed all-out support for him amid this legal battle. When asked about the petition, Vic said, “Sorry ha, hindi puwede magsalita.”
When Direk Darryl arrived, he was also asked to share his thoughts on this matter. The controversial director just said, “I’m not really a morning person and I’m not allowed to say anything.” Prior to this, the court released a gag order and this meant that both parties could no longer comment anything about the case publicly.
Bossing asked the court to compel Direk Darryl to remove and take down all promotional materials. This also included teaser videos and other content relative to the film, that depict personal information about the comedian-host. Â
As stated in the petition, Bossing Vic also wants the director to stop disseminating any materials relative to the film on all platforms.
