Sylvia is reaping the fruit of longevity in the entertainment industry. She has done many projects that paved the way to where she is now in showbiz.
Now, aside from acting, Sylvia is taking the role of a producer for her and her family’s production company Nathan Studios.
The seasoned actress recently guested on Kapamilya comedian-host Melai Cantiveros’s Kuan On Juan online talk show. This show specifically features Visayan celebrities and Sylvia is a “BisDak” or “Bisayang Dako.”
During their conversation, the seasoned actress shared her humble beginnings in showbiz. She said that she had a hard time navigating the industry when she was starting. One of the main factors for this was because of her Visayan accent.
Sylvia Sanchez was from Nasipit, Agusan del Norte, and at a young age, she became the breadwinner of their family. She shared that her accent became a reason why she received nasty reactions in showbiz before. The actress would even mispronounce her name as “Selvia Sanchiz.” Eventually, she was able to adopt the Tagalog accent.
Sylvia is now able to provide for her family. However, she admitted that being a breadwinner was not easy. “Minsan umiiyak ako sa pagod. Bakit in-embrace ko ang responsibilidad na ‘to? Napapagod ako,” she said.
However, thinking that she could let down the people she loves and not give them the things they need, would make her sad. This pushed her to continue.
The seasoned actress said that as a breadwinner, it is okay to cry and let out the emotions, especially when tiredness strikes because if she does not let this out, it will pile up.
Sylvia Sanchez shared that her strength, determination, and generosity are traits she inherited from her mother.
