Julia has come a long way since she started in the entertainment industry as a child star. Her beauty and talent exuded in everything she does, from teleseryes to movies, and even endorsement projects.
Her most recent acting project is the series Saving Grace. Julia’s role in this series is a teacher who has a student experiencing abuse from her parents.
This is not Julia Montes’s first heavy drama project. However, through Saving Grace, she was able to look back on her own childhood, based on the article in Inquirer. She was also able to relive the relationship she had with her biological parents and her grandmother who brought her up.
The actress shared that her Lola Flory did not reveal the details of the relationship that her parents had. “Noong na-shoot ko ang [‘Saving Grace’], na-realize ko na may mga bagay na pino-protect ka lang pala for your own sake,” Julia said, adding that at first, there was pain when she knew about the story of her parents, but she realized that she should not let herself be drowned in that pain.
Lola Flory became Julia’s mother and father when she was growing up and she realized how strong her grandmother’s love is. The actress said that it is twice the love of a mother.
Julia Montes also opened up about her mother Gemma who is deaf and mute. The actress said that she has a different relationship with her mom because the latter was also emotionally struggling since her world is different from most people’s.
“Habang nagdadalaga ako, nagdadalaga rin ang mama ko. Technically, ang biruan namin na ako ang nanay ko at siya ang anak ko. Kaya ang lola ko ang tumayong father and mother figure ko. Siya ang umako sa’min,” she shared.
In 2018, Julia was able to reunite with her German father in London.
