PAGASA Says Amihan and Easterlies to Prevail Over Parts of PH
PAGASA LATEST UPDATE – The state weather bureau reported that easterlies and amihan will prevail over most parts of the country.
On Wednesday (January 15, 2025), the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The easterlies and Northeast Monsoon will affect the country’s weather condition.
PAGASA weather specialist Benison Estareja reported that the easterlies will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over Eastern Visayas, Caraga, Davao Region, and SOCCSKSARGEN.
“Patuloy pa rin po ang pag-ihip ng malamig na amihan sa malaking bahagi po ng Luzon habang ang easterlies ay siyang umiihip naman sa malaking bahagi ng Visayas at Mindanao at kitang kita sa latest satellite amination wala po tayong namamataang bagyo o low-pressure area na makakaapekto sa ating bansa hanggang sa weekend,” Estareja said.
The northeast monsoon will bring cloudy skies with rains in Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, Bicol Region, Aurora, Quezon, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, and Romblon.
Amihan will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains over Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon.
The localized thunderstorms will bring similar weather conditions over the remaining parts of the country.
The weather agency has advised the residents in the affected areas to take precautionary measures for possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains and severe thunderstorms.
Meanwhile, the coastal water conditions over Northern and Central Luzon, and the eastern sections of Southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao will be moderate to rough. The remaining parts of the country will have slight to moderate surrounding sea conditions, according to PAGASA.
