Tito Sotto Belies Claim That Pepsi Paloma Movie Script Was Sent To Him

Tito Sotto reacted to this statement made by Darryl Yap’s camp

Actor-politician Tito Sotto belied the claim that the script of the Pepsi Paloma movie was sent to him prior to filming.

Controversial director Darryl Yap created this movie and the teaser he released on January 1 prompted Eat Bulaga host Vic Sotto to file 19 counts of cyber libel against him. In an interview, Vic was asked if the director reached out to him regarding the movie or informed him, he said that there was no attempt whatsoever coming from the director’s camp.

However, Direk Darryl’s legal counsel Atty. Raymond Fortun stressed that a copy of the script was sent to a Sotto sibling, particularly the senator (apparently referring to Tio Sotto).

“Direk Yap was told that the script had been given to the Sotto sibling [a senator]. There was no feedback, even as he followed up twice,” the lawyer said.

Atty. Fortun added that the script was given to the intermediary before Christmas and that the director followed up on his before Christmas.

In his response to the claim that they were given a copy of the script, Tito Sotto said, “No. They gave a copy to Vic del Rosario, not Vic Sotto, and asked Viva if they can produce it although at that time they were already shooting the movie.”

The former senator also shared that Viva’s Boss Vic Del Rosario called him and asked if he wanted a copy. It was said that Tito opted not to have it and if it would be sent to him anyway, he would just forward this to his lawyer.

In his post on X, formerly Twitter, Tito Sotto also debunked the claimed from Direk Darryl Yap’s camp. “Hindi totoo. Mali. Ibinigay ang script kay Vic del Rosario, hindi kay Vic Sotto. Hindi namin nabasa ang script nila,” the former senator said.
