Comedienne Rufa Mae Quinto Faced w/ Arrest Warrant over Dermacare Issue

RUFA MAE QUINTO – The Comedienne surrendered to the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) upon her arrival at NAIA amid an arrest warrant.

In 2024, countless reports about Neri Naig’s arrest crossed the surface. She was arrested by the authorities reportedly over an alleged syndicated estafa regarding the Dermacare issue. Amid the issue, there were reports that another celebrity is set to face an arrest warrant and Rufa Mae was named.

Rufa Mae was silent regarding the issue and it was Rufa Mae’s lawyer who spoke and confirmed that the actress is faced with an arrest warrant. The legal counsel of the comedienne confirmed that she is facing 14 counts of violation of Section 8 of the Securities Regulation Code.

The lawyer also clarified that Rufa Mae Quinto is not facing a large-scale estafa complaint. Then, the actress’ lawyer said that the comedienne will surrender to the authorities and they are planning of posting bail.

Quinto’s camp denied the accusations against the comedienne. Her lawyer also said that they are planning of filing a case.

“Ni hindi sa kanya nakapagbayad ng downpayment, tapos ‘yung mga tseke po puro tumalbog. Lahat po ‘yan hawak naman po namin ‘yung ebidensya, ipe-present naming sa court,” Quinto’s lawyer, Atty. Mary Louise Reyes said.

The lawyer of Rufa Mae stressed that her client is only a brand ambassador or an endorser of the brand that is faced with issues. She admitted that the actress is worried as the accusations were allegedly untrue.

Recently, Rufa Mae Quinto surrendered to the authorities. Based on a report on GMA News, the comedienne arrived with her family at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) aboard a Philippine Airlines flight from San Francisco, California in the United States.

Quinto and his family arrived at NAIA Terminal 1 past 5 a.m. and her lawyer has coordinated with NAIA – NBI Chief Jimmy De Leon regarding her surrender. Based on the report, the comedienne went through a medico-legal examination before she was brought to a court in Pasay.

Previously, following the statement of her lawyer, Rufa Mae Quinto has also released a statement over the arrest warrant issued against her.
