The 2024 Metro Manila Film Festival has an interesting roster of movies headlined by some of the brightest and biggest stars of today. The interesting and intriguing lineup of movies is not just to compete but also to encourage more people to support the local cinema.
There are many reasons why we all must head to the cinema nearest to us. - And The Breadwinner Is
This movie is for those who support their families – the selfless breadwinners. To date, there are many people, who have seen this film, claimed that this is accordingly the best Vice Ganda movie yet. The comedian plays the role of Bambi Salvador, an OFW in Taiwan whose life is devoted to supporting his family.
Many people shed tears because of this film.
- The Kingdom
This stars Vic Sotto and Piolo Pascual and just like Vice Ganda, Bossing transitioned into doing a drama film. This movie is a story about the Philippines in an alternate world where the country was never colonized. In a previous article, Pascual talked about working with Sotto in this film and he feels honored to have this kind of opportunity to be alongside a living legend.
This film also breaks the MMFF hiatus of Bossing.
- Green Bones
Many people claimed that this movie deserves to be seen by the world and that actor Dennis Trillo deserves an award for his performance in this film. Shortly after it hit the theater, moviegoers claimed that this was a strong contender to win awards.
In this film, Trillo plays the role of Domingo Zamora, a mute man who uses sign language and is convicted of killing his sister Joanna.
