After making history as the first Asian winner of The Voice USA, Sofronio Vasquez recalls the inspiring words from Rey Valera.

The singing journey of Sofronio Vasquez is nothing short of inspiring. He is the first Filipino to win “The Voice USA” and, at the same time, the first Asian to win the competition.

The “The Voice USA” winner is a 32-year-old singer from Team Bublé.

Among his jaw-dropping grand prizes include a record deal, a cash prize, and a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to kickstart his music career. Amid his victory, he did not forget where he was first known and that is “Tawag Ng Tanghalan”.

In one of his performances, “hurado” Rey Valera got the chance to comment and his statement seems to be a manifestation of the success of his singing career.

He was born and raised in Northern Mindanao in the Philippines and is currently 32 years old. One of his greatest influences when it comes to singing is his father. He grew up in a humble home and it was in 2019 when he first joined “Tawag Ng Tanghalan”.
