Pres. Marcos expressed being not in favor of the impeachment plan against Vice Pres. Duterte. According to the Chief Executive, no Filipino will benefit from the impeachment plan and it will only tie up the two (2) legislative branches, the House of Representatives and the Senate.

Marcos Jr. admitted that he sent a message to the House members not to file an impeachment complaint against Duterte. According to the President, “Sara is unimportant” in a larger scheme.

However, it is still unsure if the recent meeting of Pres. Bongbong Marcos with some lawmakers in the House of Representatives has something to do with the impeachment complaint filed against Vice Pres. Sara Duterte.

Sixteen (16) individuals has filed an impeachment complaint against Vice Pres. Duterte. One of the complainants is the late former Senator Ninoy Aquino’s grandson, Kiko Aquino Dee. The complainants focus on the budget spending of the offices led by Duterte.

Recently, the Presidential Communications Office (PCO) confirmed that Pres. Bongbong Marcos met with some House lawmakers for a “scheduled fellowship”. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, the PCO stressed that the fellowship is for “close in coverage only”.

“The gathering is meant to be a fellowship between the Office of the President and members of the House of Representatives which was already scheduled some time ago,” the PCO said.

Following the filing of an impeachment complaint against the Vice President, Malacañang released a statement saying that the office of Pres. Bongbong Marcos has nothing to do with the impeachment complaint filed by 16 individuals against VP Sara Duterte.

Aside from Marcos Jr., Senator Imee Marcos also disagreed with an impeachment plan against Vice Pres. Duterte.
