Earthquakes can deeply affect the lives of victims in many ways. Physically, they can cause injuries and even loss of life as buildings collapse and debris falls. Infrastructure like homes, schools, hospitals, roads, and utilities often suffer severe damage, leaving many people displaced and in need of shelter.
On early Wednesday morning (December 4, 2024), a magnitude 5.7 earthquake that struck Laoag City and other parts of Northern Luzon. The tremor was felt at Intensity V in Laoag City.
