WALANG PASOK – Various local government units have declared class suspensions due to heavy rainfall brought by the shear line.

On Monday (December 2, 2024), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration reported that the shear line will continue to affect parts of Southern Luzon and the Visayas.

The shear line, which forms when the cold northeastern monsoon meets warm winds from the Pacific Ocean, has caused gloomy weather conditions, prompting local government units to prioritize safety.

Classes in both public and private schools have been suspended in various provinces, with some areas implementing full cancellations, while others have limited the suspension to certain education levels.

The decision aims to ensure the safety of students and their families amid possible flooding and other rain-related hazards.

In addition to weather-related suspensions, Pasay City has also declared a day off for schools in celebration of its founding anniversary.
