NBI Releases Summon for VP Sara Duterte over her Remarks vs. Marcos Jr.
SARA DUTERTE – The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has summoned the Vice President and she wants to ask a copy of the questions they want to ask her.
The deteriorating relationship between Pres. Bongbong Marcos and Vice Pres. Duterte surprised countless Filipinos most especially the BBM-Sara supporters. The two (2) politicians made a strong tandem during the 2022 Elections.
However, since Vice Pres. Duterte resigned from being the secretary of the Department of Education (DepEd), the Filipinos witnessed the Vice President throwing tirades against Pres. Marcos. In rare times, the Chief Executive shortly responds to the statements of the Vice President except recently when his lengthy message was seemingly a response to the recent tirade of the VP.
Vice Pres. Sara Duterte claimed that her “final wish” includes the death of Pres. Bongbong Marcos, First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos, and House Speaker Martin Romualdez. It hooked the attention of the authorities.
The Department of Justice (DOJ) assured that they will investigate the statement of Vice Pres. Duterte as well as her father, former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte. The former Chief Executive has repeatedly accused the President of drug use.
The National Bureau of Investigation or NBI issued a subpoena against Vice Pres. Duterte over her remarks against Marcos Jr. The investigation was scheduled last Friday, November 29, 2024. However, the Vice President issued a letter explaining that she will not be able to come to the probe.
Based on a copy of the latter posted by ABS-CBN News on social media, Vice pres. Sara Duterte will be attending a hearing of the House of Representatives. The lawmakers conduct a hearing over the Confidential Funds use of the Office of the Vice President and the DepEd. The OVP officials were set to appear at the inquiry.
In her camp’s letter to the NBI, it was also written that Vice Pres. Sara Duterte wants to get for a copy of the complaint filed against her or the document that triggered the investigation as well as a copy of the questions that the investigation bureau want to ask from her.

The House panel postponed the hearing so VP Sara Duterte can appear before the NBI. The hearing being the reason why the Vice President could not appear before the NBI seemingly did not sit well with them so they gave way.
However, Duterte was still unable to attend the investigation of the NBI. According to the investigation bureau, it was already late when the Vice President found out that her appearance at the House is cancelled.
