VP Sara Duterte Asks for Copy of Questions from NBI, Complaint that Sparked Investigation

NBI – The National Bureau of Investigation refused to give Vice President Sara Duterte a copy of the questions they intend to ask her.

The recent remarks of Vice Pres. Duterte about her final wish which surprisingly include the death of Pres. Bongbong Marcos; his wife, First Lady Liza Marcos; and his cousin, House Speaker Martin Romualdez, if a supposed plot against her worked hooked the attention of the authorities.

The National Bureau of Investigation or NBI issued a subpoena for Vice Pres. Duterte over her remarks against Pres. Marcos. The investigation bureau wants the Vice President to explain her remarks which the authorities tagged as a national threat.

However, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte has said prior to the November 29 NBI investigation that she will not be able to attend the probe. She requested for the investigation to be rescheduled as she will be appearing at the House of Representatives hearing.

There is currently an investigation in the House regarding the Confidential Funds use of the Office of the Vice President (OVP) and the Department of Education (DepEd). The panel, upon knowing that Duterte will not be able to attend the NBI probe as she will prioritize the House said, decided to postpone the hearing so the Vice President can appear before the investigation bureau.

The camp of Vice Pres. Sara Duterte sent a letter to the NBI wherein the request of the VP for a copy of the questions to be asked to her was stated. However, based on a report on GMA News, the investigation bureau will not be giving advance questions.

“Ay hindi po. Hindi po kami nagbibigay talaga ng mga questions,” NBI director Jaime Santiago said.

Based on the report, Santiago expressed his confidence that Duterte already expects some of the questions that they will be asking. He cited that they will ask why the Vice President was able to air such threat to the President.

“Bakit nasabi na nakapagbanta siya nang ganun, bakit may kinausap siyang tao, ‘yun ‘yung usual. Pero ‘yung other questions pa ay hindi na namin maibibigay,” he said.

Vice Pres. Sara Duterte is currently surrounded by several issues and accusations. Despite his daughter’s situation now, former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte is confident that VP. Sara Duterte can really handle things.
