Pres. Bongbong Marcos Reacts To Impeachment Plans vs. Vice Pres. Sara Duterte in the House
BONGBONG MARCOS – Following the revelation of the House, the President spoke his side on the impeachment plan versus Vice Pres. Sara Duterte.
The Filipinos were shocked by the sudden souring of the relationship between Pres. Marcos and Vice Pres. Duterte. The latter is also surrounded by several issues and allegations which she claims are allegedly ways of the government to cover up the supposed corruption and irregularities.
In June, Vice Pres. Duterte resigned from being the secretary of DepEd (Department of Education). Since then, she has started throwing remarks against Pres. Marcos, her running mate in the 2022 Elections.
Vice Pres. Sara Duterte accused Pres. Bongbong Marcos of allegedly not knowing how to be a president. When asked to rate the governance of Marcos Jr., the Vice President even gave him “one” as the rating in a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the highest.
Duterte also claimed that she and Marcos Jr. did not really start as friends. According to her, Marcos Jr.’s sister, Senator Imee Marcos, is the one that she is really friends with. However, she also shared telling the Senator that she will exhume the body of Marcos Sr. and throw it into the West Philippine Sea if the alleged attacks against her don’t stop.
The President claimed that he felt like he was maybe deceived for believing that he and Duterte are friends. The Marcos family except for presidential son and Ilocos Norte Representative Sandro Marcos who said that Duterte has crossed the line remained mum amid her threats on their family’s patriarch.
Vice Pres. Sara Duterte is currently surrounded by a lot of issues concerning the Confidential Funds utilization of DepEd and the Office of the Vice President (DepEd), her souring ties with Pres. Bongbong Marcos, her office’s 2025 budget proposal, and a lot more.
Amid the issues, the House of Representatives confirmed eyeing an impeachment move against Duterte. Recently, based on a report on GMA News, Pres. Bongbong Marcos revealed her take on the plan of the House.
Marcos Jr. admitted to encouraging the House lawmakers not to file an impeachment rap versus Duterte. According to him, it is unimportant.
“This is not important. This does not make nay difference to even one, single Filipino life, so why waste time on this?” the President said.
Pres. Bongbong Marcos stressed that filing an impeachment rap against Vice Pres. Sara Duterte will only tie down the House and the Senate “for nothing”. According to him, the issue is a “storm in a tea cup”.
Marcos Jr. also admitted to sending a private message to the House members encouraging them not to file an impeachment rap against Duterte. Based on the report, the President told in a message that “in the larger scheme of things, Sara is unimportant. So please do not file impeachment complaints”.
Vice Pres. Sara Duterte has yet to react on the claim of Pres. Bongbong Marcos. Vice Pres. Duterte was summoned by the NBI over her remarks against Pres. Marcos but she did not come today.
