Pres. Bongbong Marcos Asserts Rule of Law Must Be Upheld
BONGBONG MARCOS – The Philippine President broke his silence amid the rants of Vice President Sara Duterte and the threats to his life.
It is no secret to the public that Pres. Marcos and Vice Pres. Duterte are seemingly not in good terms. There are also a lot of issues surrounding the Vice President now as well as the Office of the Vice President (OVP).
Previously, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte claimed she told Senator Imee Marcos that she will throw the remains of Marcos Sr. into the West Philippine Sea in case the supposed attacks against her won’t stop. The Marcos siblings were initially mum on the remarks.
It was presidential son and Ilocos Norte Representative Sandro Marcos who said Vice Pres. Sara Duterte has crossed the line. After Duterte claimed that Marcos Jr. allegedly does not know how to be a president and the warning on the remains of his late grandfather, the Ilocos Norte Congressman hoped that the Vice President will find mental peace and clarity.
Recently, amid the detention order for the chief-of-staff of the Office of the Vice President at the House of Representatives, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte issued “Final Wish” remarks seemingly igniting threats on the lives of Pres. Bongbong Marcos, First Lady Liza Marcos, and House Speaker Martin Romualdez.
OVP chief-of-staff Attorney Zuleika Lopez was detained at the House but she was rushed to the hospital after falling ill. Vice Pres. Duterte also stayed at the House during the detention of her office’s Chief-of-Staff and accompanied her in the ambulance when she was brought to the hospital.
Recently, Pres. Bongbong Marcos broke his silence amid the tirades of Vice Pres. Sara Duterte. In a video message posted on his official Facebook account, the Chief Executive stressed that the recent remarks were alarming.
“Nakakabahala ang mga pahayag na narinig natin nitong mga nakaraang araw… Kung ganun na lang kadali, ang pagplano sa pagpatay ng isang presidente, papanu pa kaya ang mga pangkaraniwan na mamamayan?” Marcos Jr. said.\
The President asserted that the rule of the law must be upheld being in a democratic country. He stressed that he and all the officials in the government have the responsibility to implement and protect the rules of the Constitution.
Pres. Bongbong Marcos Jr. stressed that it is not right to stop those who were elected by the people in finding the truth. According to the Chief Executive, the situation will not lead to this “drama” if only the legitimate questions of the Senate and the House of Representatives are being answered.
The statement of the President is seemingly a swipe at Vice Pres. Duterte who repeatedly skipped the hearings set by the House over the budget use of the OVP and the DepEd. Previously, Vice Pres. Duterte explained that she has appeared at the first hearing but she was not asked.
“Imbes na diretsahang sagot, nililihis pa sa kwentong chichirya. Hangad ko na matuldukan na itong mga pangyayaring ito sa paraang matiwasay at magdadala sa atin sa katotohanan,” Marcos said.
Pres. Bongbong Marcos stressed that he was also a lawmaker in the Congress for 12 years and he recognizes the power given by the people and the Constitution. He also expressed his respect on the duty of the legislative department being an independent government body.
“Kahit ang buong executive branch, lahat ng mga ahensya ay hindi nakaka-ligtas at parating sumasailalim sa kanilang masusing pagsusuri,” the President said.
Vice Pres. Sara Duterte has yet to issue a statement on the video message of Pres. Bongbong Marcos. Recently, Vice Pres. Duterte claimed that First Lady Liza Marcos is allegedly behind the giving of envelopes with cash to DepEd officials.
Mangyari ang pag patay kung si VP Sarah ay pinas Lang dahil may kina usap na syang tao pang pumatay sa mga hinihinalaan nyang mag pa patay sa kanya.
