Aga Muhlach showed another side of his acting caliber in this new movie
Award-winning actor Aga Muhlach talked about his dark character in the Metro Manila Film Festival 2024 entry Uninvited.
This movie is Aga’s reunion movie with Star for All Seasons Vilma Santos. The last they worked together was back in the 90s. This movie also featured award-winning actress Nadine Lustre who is now being tagged as the new “horror queen.”
Previously, Vilma jokingly shared that she threatened Aga to accept this movie. However, Aga said that the veteran actress need not do this because he would definitely say yes to this kind of project.
Just recently, a media conference for this MMFF film was held. Aga Muhlach’s last MMFF film Miracle in Cell No. 7 featured him in a sympathetic role. For his new movie, the actor had to portray a dark character.
Based on the article in Abante, Aga is thankful that the production team considered him to portray the role. He wanted to commend the people behind the camera led by their director Dan Villegas.
“Sa tagal ko na pong gumagawa ng pelikula, noong pumasok po ako sa set nung first day ko, doon ko nakita talaga na nasa ibang mundo talaga ako,” he revealed.
Aga added that he did not need to act or think about what to do because from the writing to the lighting and the set design, the production team had done it well, so it was easy for him to deliver what was needed from him.
“Maraming salamat sa inyo. Mabuhay kayo, mabuhay kayo,” the seasoned actor said. This is Aga’s first project with Direk Dan, as well as, with Nadine Lustre.
The actor shared that he and Nadine did not have their warm-up. When they met on the movie set, they immediately shot the heavy scenes and they enjoyed the filming.
His dark role in this film gave him an inspiring challenge. “Masarap maging masama… sa pelikula. Pero sabi ko, ‘wag naman tayong gumawa ng masama [na role] na typical na masama. Masarap ‘yung masama na minamahal ka din. Haha! ‘Yan po ang ginawa namin dito,” the actor said.
Aga Muhlach also shared that he would go home from shooting happy because of the role he did in this film and he is excited to show this to the moviegoers.
