Court OKs Extension of Pastor Apollo Quiboloy’s Medical Furlough
APOLLO QUIBOLOY – The Pastor requested for an extension of his medical furlough and it gained the approval of a Pasig City Court.
Pastor Quiboloy is faced with charges. It was early in September when the Philippine National Police (PNP) arrested the Pastor after a few weeks of intensified search operations inside the Kingdom of Jesus Christ compound in Davao City.
The PNP operations reportedly included drilling operations which gained different reactions from the authorities, the KOJC members, and the public. Following his arrest, Pastor Quiboloy was detained at the PNP Custodial Facility in Camp Crame.
The co-accused of the Pastor was brought to the Pasig City Jail. Previously, it gained different reactions as to why Quiboloy is still at Camp Crame. His camp also appealed for a hospital arrest but it was declined by the Court.
More than a week ago, Pastor Quiboloy was brought to the hospital due to chest discomfort and irregular heartbeat. According to his lawyer, Attorney Israelito Torreon, the condition of the Pastor is not life-threatening.
Torreon explained that Quiboloy is used to an active lifestyle being an athlete. He stressed that the recent health conditions of the Pastor is possibly due to a change in his routine.
After he was brought to the hospital, the camp of Pastor Apollo Quiboloy appealed for a medical furlough so he can be checked. The Court approved it and he was brought to the Philippine Heart Center.
The PNP also confirmed that Pastor Quiboloy was briefly taken from the PHC to the Philippine Children’s hospital for some tests. He was returned to PHC right away after the tests.
The camp of Pastor Apollo Quiboloy requested for an extension of his medical furlough. Based on a report on GMA News, a Pasig City court approved the request of the Pastor. His medical furlough is extended until Wednesday, November 27, 2024.
“It was approved until Wednesday. Mataas na diskusyon po pero na-approved naman. There will be medical furlough for Pastor Apollo Quiboloy,” Atty. Israelito Torreon said.
Based on the report, the lawyer refused to speak about the details of the medical furlough due to the nature of the proceedings. The hearing regarding the case against the Pastor will resume on Friday at a Pasig City Court.
The Pastor is running for senator next year. Apollo Quiboloy is included in the COMELEC’s list of the valid candidates for the 2025 senatorial race. He is running as an independent candidate in the upcoming election.
