Ken Chan has released a statement but this was debunked by his former business partner
Mark Wei, the former business partner of Kapuso actor Ken Chan, reacted to the statement he released after a warrant of arrest was served against him because of a syndicated estafa complaint.
Ken has not been visible in showbiz engagement since September. Allegedly, he is out of the country after an estafa complaint was filed against him. The actor hasn’t spoken about this issue for quite some time.
He was accused of personally spending the investment money from investors. Last week, the police went to his house to serve the warrant of arrest but the actor was not there.
The legal counsel of the complainant, Atty. Joseph Noel Estrada, stressed that his client gave Ken Chan Php14 million in investment money but the actor allegedly the profit-sharing deal that the two parties agreed did not happen.
Just recently, Ken broke his silence on the issue. He denied that he scammed anyone and stressed that their restaurant business materialized but it was not a successful business venture. The actor also claimed that the business failed because of business partners who planned to sabotage it and destroy his name.
Ken also stressed that he was silent for a long time because he has been addressing the issue through the legal process,
After he released that statement, his business partner shared his reaction. Through a series of posts on his Instagram Story, Mark Wei debunked Ken Chan’s statement and accused the actor of reversing the story.
The actor’s ex-business partner also said, “Hindi malulugi kung sa negosyo napunta ang pera at hindi sa bulsa, lol.” Mark also questioned Ken why he did not want to face the court as a warrant of arrest was already served against him and the court found a probable cause.
The businessman also stressed that all their complaints have supporting evidence and that Ken’s statement clearly showed his lack of understanding of the legalities of this issue.
“Harapin mo na lang kami po kung inosente ka talaga. Let’s put it in a proper forum sa court,” Mark stated. The businessman also shared a post on X, formerly Twitter, about Ken’s statement. Mark said that more filings are on the way.
