Former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte Congratulates Ex-U.S. Pres. Donald Trump
RODRIGO DUTERTE – The former Philippine President extended his congratulations to former United States President Donald Trump for his win in the 2024 Presidential Elections.
The United States of America is set to have a new president â or a returning president in this case. 45th U.S. Pres. Donald Trump won a comeback to the White House after sweeping off 270 electoral votes which was needed to clinch in the presidency.
Donald Trump won the 2024 U.S. Elections over Kamala Harris, the current Vice President of U.S. and the bet of the Democratic Party. The counting of votes is ongoing but she has already conceded to the race.
Trump swept off the Blue Wall after winning in Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, and Michigan. As of this writing, 295 electoral votes were secured by the former U.S. President while the current U.S. Vice President got 226 electoral votes.
Other presidential candidates in the 2024 U.S. Elections include an independent candidate, Robert Kennedy, Jill Stein of Green Party, and Chase Oliver of Libertarian Party. Many of the swing states had massive votes for Trump.
After U.S. Vice Pres. Kamala Harris conceded in the presidential race, several political figures in other nations extended their congratulations to Trump. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and French President Emmanuel Macron have congratulated the incoming U.S. President.
Donald Trump was the president of the United States in 2016. Then, the Philippines was led by former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte. The latter, based on a post on Rody Duterte Facebook page, has released a statement expressing his congratulations to Trump.
Based on the post, former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte extended his warm congratulations to former U.S. Pres. Donald Trump for winning the presidency again. He also expressed his hope that Trump’s “new mandate will bring renewed optimism and strength to the American people”.
According to Duterte, he is looking forward to the success of Trump’s administration and their “shared aspirations for greater peace and prosperity” for the Philippines and the United States and the people. Here’s the post:
