Man w/ Pending Warrant for Murder Arrested While Applying for Police Clearance
A man from Cebu City was arrested while applying for police clearance after he was caught with outstanding warrant of arrest.
A police clearance is an important document that shows whether someone has a criminal record or if they have been involved in any legal issues. It’s typically requested by employers when hiring new workers, by government offices for permits or licenses, or when you’re applying for a visa to travel abroad.
To get a police clearance, a person usually has to go to the local police station or an authorized office, fill out a form, and sometimes pay a small fee. They’ll need to show identification and sometimes a set of fingerprints to make sure they are the right person.
The police will then check their records to see if they have committed any crimes or if there are any pending legal matters against them.
A police clearance is helpful because it lets others know that the person has no history of serious crimes. It can also show if there’s a warrant for their arrest or if they’re involved in a case.
Recently, a 48-year-old man from Cebu City got a surprise he wasn’t expecting when he went to get a police clearance. Just as he was completing the process, the authorities found an outstanding warrant for his arrest tied to a murder case.
Apparently, the man didn’t even know he had a pending case. Once the warrant popped up in their system, the police had no choice but to take him into custody right there. He’s now being held at the Mabolo Police Station in Cebu City.
Since the arrest, the man hasn’t made any public statements. The police are handling the matter as an active investigation, and he’ll need to work with a lawyer as the legal process move on.
