Pres. Bongbong Marcos Cuts Off Press on Questions about Duterte
BONGBONG MARCOS – The President immediately cut off the press from questions about former President Rodrigo Duterte’s Senate admissions.
Unexpected by many people, former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte appeared at the Senate investigation of his administration’s war on drugs. It was led by the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee and presided by Senate Minority Leader Koko Pimentel.
The attendance of Duterte at the Senate hearing hooked many people. The House of Representatives also have an investigation on his admin’s drug war and the House Quad Committee has formally invited former Pres. Duterte but he did not appear at the probe.
Previously, Senator Bato dela Rosa claimed that Duterte is allegedly more comfortable in the Senate than in the House thus, there’s a huge chance that the former President will attend the probe in the upper chamber.
Dela Rosa initially expressed an intent to launch a probe regarding the drug war of the previous administration. However, it left him criticized as he was the Philippine National Police (PNP) chief during the war on drugs.
At the Senate hearing, former Pres. Duterte admitted that he gave the police an order to encourage the criminals to fight back so they can move. He also reiterated that he has already warned the Filipinos not to engage in drugs.
Amid his admissions at the probe, former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte said he takes “full legal responsibility” over his administration’s war on drugs. He asked the cops to be spared saying that they were only following his orders.
Duterte also claimed that a drug den was recently raided inside the Malacañang, the official place of residence of Pres. Bongbong Marcos. A few months ago, the former President has thrown tirades against Marcos Jr.
Recently, in a press conference, the press wanted to ask Pres. Bongbong Marcos for his reaction on the admissions of former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte during the Senate hearing. Based on a report on GMA News, Marcos immediately cut off the reporters.
‘I don’t want to talk about— I need to talk about what’s happened here,” Pres. Marco said.
Based on the report, Marcos Jr. was referring to the situation in Batangas as the topic that he wanted to discuss. Batangas was severely-hit by severe tropical storm Kristine. Marcos admitted that he’s not satisfied with the government response to the impact of Kristine.
