Aside from former Pres. Duterte, Senator Bato dela Rosa is also one of the accused in the drug war of the previous administration. He was the chief of the Philippine National Police (PNP) under the rule of Duterte and the PNP worked closely with the government in the war against drugs.

Recently, prior to the Senate probe on the Duterte drug war, Sen. Bato dela Rosa had a pronouncement that he never regretted being part of the war on drugs campaign of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte. Based on a report on GMA News, he even wants to do it in the same way given the chance.
“No regrets. If you are going to give me the chance to do it again, I will do it again. The same approach,” the Senator said.
According to Sen. Bato dela Rosa, the fight against drugs cannot be fought by simply being decent or “pa-cute-cute lang”. Based on the report, he believes that force is needed. He claimed that he knows the truth and other people cannot make up stories against him.
“You have to be forceful enough to send your message down the spine of these criminals,” Dela Rosa said.
