Former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte Reveals How He Shows Appreciation on Police Accomplishment
RODRIGO DUTERTE – The former President denied that there was a rewards system in his administration’s war on drugs campaign.
The war on drugs is the most popular campaigns of the Duterte administration. It gained different reactions from the people. Some Filipinos laud the previous administration’s campaign against drugs while others criticized it for how it was implemented.

The war on drugs campaign of the Duterte administration is surrounded by issues and accusations. There are deaths that are being linked to the campaign. The Duterte admin and the Philippine Nationa Police (PNP) worked hand in hand in the campaign.
The current PNP is eyeing to reopen the investigation on the deaths linked to the Duterte drug war and the Marcos administration expressed support to the PNP. Not only former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte but as well as then PNP chief and now Senator Bato dela Rosa are being questioned regarding the campaign.

Recently, Sen. Bato dela Rosa earned backlash after he revealed his plan to launch a Duterte drug war investigation and invite the former President as one of the resource persons. The House of Representatives also has its own probe regarding the staunch campaign.
Former Sen. Leila de Lima is one of those who criticized the plan of Sen. Bato dela Rosa. The former Senator stressed that Dela Rosa is also one of the accused. The netizens also had negative reactions on the plan of the former PNP Chief.
Another allegation against the Duterte drug war is the alleged rewards system among the police in the implementation of the campaign. Based on a report on GMA News, former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte denied giving the cops rewards for a mission accomplished.
According to the former Chief Executive, he has a different way in showing his appreciation to the police which he described as individuals who do not accept money as rewards. He claimed that they would eat and drink as his form of congratulating them for a mission accomplished.
“Ang pinakaano [ng mga pulis] sa akin is ‘pag mission accomplished, yayain ko sila sa restaurant, magkain kami and I congratulate them. Tsaka palainom ang pulis. Bigyan mo ng dalawang boteng scotch…hindi ‘yan tatanggap ng pera. Nahihiya ‘yan,” the former President said.
Based on the report, it was retire police colonel Royina Garma who claimed that the Duterte war on drugs was implemented with a rewards system. Allegedly, the rewards range from Php 20,000 to Php 1 million.
Previously, Sen. Bong Go who is close to Duterte also defended the former President. He stressed that everyone is clapping during Duterte’s SONA’s whenever he would mention about his admin’s campaign against drugs but he is alone and blamed now.
