Sen. Cynthia Villar Reacts To Issue between Vice Pres. Duterte & Pres. Marcos
CYNTHIA VILLAR – The Senator expressed her hope that Vice President Sara Duterte and Pres. Bongbong Marcos will be able to patch things up.
The current rift between Vice Pres. Duterte and Pres. Marcos has surprised countless Filipinos most especially the BBM-Sara supporters. It was early this year when speculations about the possible issue between the two (2) highest officials in the Philippine government crossed the surface.
Vice Pres. Duterte resigned from being the secretary of the Department of Education (DepEd). She also totally left the cabinet of Pres. Marcos and the Chief Executive has accepted her decision.
In a previous chance interview with the press at the House of Representatives, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte claimed that she will never again team up with Pres. Bongbong Marcos. According to the Vice President, they are not really friends and it is Senator Imee Marcos who is her really her friend.
The statement of the Vice President earned the reaction of the Chief Executive. Pres. Bongbong Marcos admitted that he’s dismayed by the statement of Vice Pres. Duterte. He also explained wht the Vice President is not the caretaker of the Philippines while he is away.
According to the President, the Vice President is still under the government but no longer under the administration thus, it will be “unfair” for her to be tasked as the caretaker of the Philippines while the Chief Executive is away.
Recently, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte spoke heated statements against the Marcoses. According to Vice Pres. Duterte, she will throw Marcos Sr.’s remains into the West Philippine Sea if the attacks against her continues.
Vice Pres. Duterte also claimed that Pres. Marcos does not know how to be a president. According to her, she rates him 1 out of 10 for his governnance in the country. It shocked countless people.
One of those who hope that Pres. Bongbong Marcos and Vice Pres. Sara Duterte will be able to patch things up is Sen. Cynthia Villar. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, the lawmaker believes that the VP might have been prosecuted too much that she got mad.
“Siyempre galit eh. Kung ano-ano naiisip kasi galit. Kasi I think masyado namang pinrosecute kaya nagagalit. Siguro ‘yun ang reason doon but sana mag ano na lang, magbati na lang para walang problema,” Villar said.
Sen. Cynthia Villar stressed that there are so many problems in the country now and “we don’t need any conflict to deter the solution of the problems”. Meanwhile, based on the report, the rift between the Vice President and the President does not affect the economy which only needs the right policies.
“Tingin ko naman ‘yung economy, right policies ‘yan eh. Di masyadong political, you just have to do the right policies,” she said.
