Indeed, great power comes with great responsibility. When it comes to having the power of being a public figure, one of the biggest responsibilities is to handle comments from the public. Your own truth won’t matter if the people already have something they want to believe in about you unless you have some solid proof to prove your truth.
Beauty queen-turned-fashion influencer Pia Wurtzbach is used to these comments online. At some point, she probably became immune to such comments. Most especially at the recent time.
Following the exchange of words between her camp and Heart Evangelista’s camp. This issue started because of an invitation from Victoria’s Secret. As it appeared, Heart was also invited and was accordingly the first choice but she declined due to her schedule. However, Pia’s camp ignited the issue saying the other one person was lying as Pia was the one and only invited to this exclusive event.
Recently, she shared thoughts in a post and the question was: “What seems easy for others but is hard for you?”
In her answer, she acknowledged the challenges that come with being a public figure which is public scrutiny but this thing is something she found too tough to navigate with. How a single simple comment can burst online leading to “intense judgment and heated arguments”. It’s so easy for others to throw in hate and negative comments and on the end were the receivers just like her, who finds it hard to digest these negativities.
Some things are blown out of proportion and sometimes, because of this, she finds it hard to balance “authenticity with expectations”. It’s overwhelming but for her, “staying true to yourself is what matters”.
