SERIES STORY EXAMPLE – Here is a chapter three (3) of the personally-written short story entitled “On This Day”.
Dom’s POV
Rain fell so hard and its too late to accompany Cheska home. Coldness started to run in our nerves as if it is demanding for an unusual heat. Her head slowly laid on my shoulders then. T’was as if there is this feeling that I wanted to hold every part of her, that not an inch could set our bodies away, not an air could pass by between our souls. I tried to control myself. I must admit that I’m shivering but I really tried. Then as the cool breeze blew like it’s whispering something, we enveloped our bodies under a white satin sheet. I didn’t notice that my hand was already scratching her back gently as if asking her something. Despite the enormous darkness in the chamber, I can see her brown enticing eyes gazing on me, giving me a sign. Oh I could never resist those red perfect lips, her smooth delicate skin that touches mine. Covered by the sheet, I held her tightly, held her curves to keep her in place. Sweetest kisses. Tightest grips. Gentlest scratches. All done in the most romantic way I have never imagined. It seemed like darkness only made us more comfortable. Oh her face, her eyes, her lips, they were like heaven to me. However, what if this short time pleasure would torment us? What if I’m bound to lose her after this? What ifs are already killing me.
That night was so memorable – a night of total happiness but were followed by months filled with the longest days and the hardest nights in my entire existence. Cheska got pregnant. Dad and mom forced me to move out of the house and get on my own way. I was entirely a big shame for them. They never expected that their son would be pursuing the daughter of their laundrywoman. With my little savings left, I rented an old apartment for me and Cheska. Things became tighter – mom stopped my card and so I was forced to sell my car and my gadgets and make huge compromises. I always get home at dawn already, though tired of work from the shop; I’m always approached by Cheska’s arguments. Longest fights happen then but they were always followed by the tightest hug, the sweetest I love you, and the most passionate kiss. Though the situation almost killed me, love kept me alive. The hardships slowly left us when I finally saw the fruit of all of it, Dominic Augustine Perez III, my entire replica.
“What if that rainy night never happened? Perhaps I would never see this little boy marching on the aisle bringing with him the circle that I long to be worn by Cheska,” I heard my mind saying as August smiled on me. This boy is not only my son whom I will surely love and cherish forever. This boy is a constant reminder of my love for her mother, the love that will never grow tired, the love that even death can never kill.”
