The owner of the bus involved in the Thailand bus accident apologizes and vows assistance.
THAILAND BUS ACCIDENT – The owner of the bus company involved in a tragic fire expressed an apology and promised to assist financially.
Almost two dozens of young students and teachers were recovered following the fire tragedy in a bus that occurred in the suburb of Bangkok. The dead bodies from the Thailand school bus fire, mostly children, were returned to their families following the DNA testing did to them.
Their bodies were left charred as a result of the extreme fire and authorities were not able to recognize them. They were received at Wat Khao Phraya Sangkharam, the temple in in Uthai Thani province.
This tragedy causes not just sadness but also anger among the people. Thai police already filed several initial charges against the driver of the bus following his arrest. He surrendered and gave a statement to the police but based on the initial investigation, the driver’s statement and what they discovered did not match.
The driver will be charged with reckless driving causing deaths and injuries, failing to stop to help others, and failing to report the accident.
Amid the grief and weeping of the families of the victims, the owner of the bus company involved in a tragic fire attended the funeral. Songwit Chinabut, owner of Chinabut Tour Company, went to the families and personally apologized.
Along with his apology was his promise to provide 50,000 baht to the families as an initial compensation. He also pledged to provide assistance to the other victims who got injured.
The school bus was hired by Khao Phraya Sangkaram School for a field trip. Based on the initial investigation, the bus had 11 fuel tanks and 5 were unregistered. The bus was first registered in 1970 and its second registration was in 1998. Upon inspection, no glass-breaking hammer was found on the bus.
