PAGASA Says ITCZ and Easterlies to Bring Rains Over Parts of PH
PAGASA LATEST UPDATE – The state weather bureau reported that the Intertropical Convergence Zone will bring rain over some parts of the country.
On for Saturday (October 5, 2024), Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The Intertropical Convergence Zone will affect the country’s weather conditions.
PAGASA weather specialist Daniel Villamil reported that fair weather is expected in many parts of the country. However, overcast skies with rain showers are still possible. The Intertropical Convergence Zone will bring cloudy skies with isolated rains over parts of the country.
The ITCZ will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over Bicol Region, Visayas, Caraga, Northern Mindanao, Zamboanga Peninsula, and Palawan. Flash floods or landslides are possible in these areas due to moderate to at times heavy rains.
“Based on our satellite images, there are thick cloud bands affecting the southern portion of the country due to ITCZ,” Villamil said.
The easterlies will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over the Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Cagayan Valley, and Central Luzon.
Similar weather condition is expected over Metro Manila and the rest of the country due to the ITCZ. Possible flash floods or landslides are expected during severe thunderstorms.
“For Metro Manila and the rest of the country, expect fair weather today with isolated rain showers and thunderstorms,” Villamil said.
Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over Northern and Central Luzon will be moderate to rough. The rest of Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao will have slight to moderate surrounding sea conditions.
PAGASA did not raise a gale warning over any of the country’s seaboards.
