Rob Gomez admitted that he can see himself being a politician

Kapuso actor Rob Gomez revealed his plan to enter politics in a recent ambush interview during an event.

Rob rose to fame with his leading man roles in GMA. Over the years, he has already done various acting projects under his home network. Despite the controversy he encountered when his former partner beauty queen Shaila Rebortera revealed his intriguing conversations with other women, Rob was able to continue doing his projects.

Aside from being in the entertainment industry, Rob also admitted that he can see himself in the world of politics someday. It has been a common trend every election that showbiz personalities cross over to the political arena.

In a recent interview, based on the article in Bandera, Rob Gomez was asked if he is open to running for a government position. He said, “I would love to.”

The actor said that he is not new to the political scene in the Philippines and it is because of his family. “I look up highly to my family because of what they did. Through this naman din sila ‘diba, before show business, nag-politics. They’re great with people, obviously. That’s why they reached what they reached,” Rob said.

He said that he hoped one day, he would be included beside the names of politicians in his family and that he would be worthy to be there. “I hope it will be me one day,” he said.

Rob also stressed that he is great with people and that even though some people are seeing him on the negative side right now, the truth is that there are still a lot of people who love and believe in him.

Rob Gomez is a member of the Ejercito family. He is the son of Kate Gomez, the sister of actor-politician Gary Estrada, and the cousin of musician Eric Ejercito and actor Kiko Estrada.

The late veteran actor George Estregan is their family patriarch. Rob is also related to former President Joseph “Erap” Estrada, the father of Senators Jinggoy Estrada and JV Ejercito.
