A real estate agent was scammed by a woman pretending to be a regional director of SM Supermalls.

Recently, Alexa Morata, a Facebook user, shared her experience with a scammer who pretended as a regional director of SM Supermalls. The post elicited various reactions from netizens.

Morata recounted how the woman requested a site visit to various properties, including Deo Homes, Deca Homes, and Yntossan.

Posing as an SM executive, the scammer claimed she was looking for a 100-square-meter lot as her husband, supposedly a ship captain, was interested in investing. She expressed particular interest in a large property at Yntossan, prompting further visits.

The scammer even visited Alexa’s home, stating she wanted to see the layout. The scammer insisted on buying a property after the site visit and repeatedly called Alexa to finalize the deal.

They arranged a meeting at SM, which the woman kept delaying. Eventually, they met at Kenny Rogers, and the scammer suggested they head to Robinsons to buy gifts for a colleague, claiming to be a manager at SM.

At Robinsons, the scammer took Alexa to Handyman to purchase a smart lock for her supposed house. Later, they visited the department store, where the scammer asked Alexa to try on pants, claiming she was buying a gift for someone with a similar build.

Unknown to Alexa, the woman stole P25,000 from her bag while she was distracted. Luckily, Morata had taken a photo of the scammer and shared it online to warn others. She urged anyone with information about the woman’s locations to contact her, hoping to catch the scammer and prevent her from deceiving others.
