#WalangPasok: Class Suspensions for Thursday (September 19, 2024)

Class Suspensions for Thursday (September 19, 2024) Due to Southwest Monsoon

WALANG PASOK – Various local government units have declared class suspensions in some areas due to the effects of southwest monsoon.

On Thursday (September 19, 2024), several areas across the Philippines have announced class suspensions due to heavy rains brought by the southwest monsoon, locally known as Habagat.

Although no tropical cyclones are currently within the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR), the effects of the monsoon have led to continued rains, prompting safety concerns.

Class Suspensions

PAGASA reported that Tropical Depression Gener and Tropical Storm Helen exited the country on September 18, but the intensified monsoon continues to affect various regions. The weather agency also warns of heavy to intense rains in Zambales and Bataan, with moderate to heavy rainfall expected in Metro Manila, Bulacan, Pampanga, Calabarzon, and Mimaropa.

As a result, local government units (LGUs) have suspended classes at different levels.
