Lady Content Creator Bitten by K-9 Dog While Trying to Record Vlog
A content creator named Lauren shared her frightening experience when she was bitten by a K-9 dog she tried to pet.
According to Lauren, she was retouching her makeup when she noticed a security guard and the dog walking towards her. Since she loves dogs, she didn’t hesitate to let the K-9 approach her, planning to record it as part of her content.
However, the K-9 dog she tried to pet bit her on the face and hand. Lauren admitted that she made a mistake and realized that the dog might have been startled or felt threatened by her actions.
The content creator was quickly taken to the hospital by the hotel staff to receive treatment and necessary vaccinations. She learned a valuable lesson not to touch any pet or animal without caution.
“Naging lesson ko yung ano, huwag basta-basta hahawak ng kahit anong pet,” Lauren said.
Veterinarian and expert K-9 trainer, Dr. Abel Manalo, explained that not all dogs are meant to be petted, especially those trained to perform specific tasks. The dog that bit Lauren was a Belgian Malinois, a breed often used in K-9 units for detection, guarding, and protection.
K-9 units are not like regular pets or therapy dogs. Their primary role is to work, not to interact with the public in a casual manner. Some K-9s even wear collars with signs that say “Do not pet.”
Dr. Manalo mentioned that the dog’s reaction could have been triggered by the sound of Lauren’s voice or how closely she approached the animal. He also points out signs that a dog might become aggressive, such as stiffness, ears pinned back, restlessness, or a tucked tail.
Always remember to approach dogs with caution, especially working dogs like K-9s.
