Vice Pres. Sara Duterte’s Office Speaks on OVP Medical, Burial & Relief Programs
SARA DUTERTE’S OFFICE – The Office of the Vice President said that its initiatives has served more than two (2) million Filipinos in the past 2 years.
Amid the issues surrounding the budget proposal of the Office of the Vice President (OVP) for 2025, the office of Vice Pres. Duterte spoke about their initiatives. It stressed that its programs benefited millions of people. It came following Vice Pres. Duterte’s absence at the resumption of the House hearing of its 2025 budget proposal.

In a statement, the Office of the Vice President said that its medical, burial, and relief programs have assisted 2,027,164 people. According to the OVP, the 1.5 million beneficiaries availed the services through their satellite offices in the Philippines.
The biggest chunk of the beneficiaries of the programs and initiatives of Vice Pres. Sara Duterte’s office for the first half of the year 2024 are Filipinos living in the National Capital Region (NCR) and followed by the number of Pinoys in Davao City, the bailiwick of the Vice President.

Based on a report on GMA News, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte’s office has 227,370 beneficiaries in the NCR for the first half of 2024. It is followed by the 175,908 beneficiaries of the OVP from the Davao Region.
Here is a list of the beneficiaries of the initiatives of the Office of the Vice President in the first half of 2024:
- National Capital Region — 227,370 beneficiaries
- Davao Region — 175,908 beneficiaries
- Western Visayas — 129,851 beneficiaries
- Central Visayas — 115,874 beneficiaries
- Calabarzon — 15,199 beneficiaries
- Bicol Region — 11,150 beneficiaries
- Zamboanga Peninsula — 9,660 beneficiaries
Based on the report, under the budget proposal of the OVP for 2025, the office is seeking to serve 1.4 million Filipinos across the nation through their medical, burial, and relief programs. However, a House Committee suggested a massive budget cut for VP Sara Duterte’s office.
Previously, Vice Pres. Duterte said that the OVP is ready to work even without a budget. Her statement following her spar with Senator Risa Hontiveros during the hearing at the Senate regarding her office’s budget proposal for 2025.
Hontiveros questioned the similar programs of the OVP with the programs of the other government agencies. The lawmaker also asked about the P10 million budget allotted for the distribution of the book written by Duterte herself.
The Vice President also had a spar with some House members. ACT Teachers Partylist Representative France Castro did not like the actions of the Vice Pres. Duterte at the hearing.
