Doc Willie Ong went Critical due to “Neutropenic Sepsis”

Following Cancer Diagnosis, Doc Willie Ong Faces another Health Battle

DOC WILLIE ONG – The celebrity cardiologist revealed going critical because of “neutropenic sepsis” through a video.

Countless Filipinos were left shocked and saddened by the recent revelation of Doc Willie — that he was diagnosed with cancer. The celebrity doctor was diagnosed with sarcoma which he described as one of the “hardest” cancer to treat.

Doc Willie is undergoing chemotherapy treatment. Many Filipinos expressed words of encouragement and prayers for the cardiologist. However, just two (2) days since he revealed that he has a cancer, Doc Willie has another unfortunate revelation.

Through a vlog, Doc Willie Ong revealed that he went critical between September 7 to September 11, 2024. He was diagnosed with “neutropenic sepsis” and his blood pressure level dropped to 85/60. His White Blood Cell (WBC) count also fell to 0.36 which the normal value is between 5 to 10.

According to Doc Willie, he was admitted at the hospital last September 7 and he was discharged last September 13. In his vlog, clips of the cardiologist crying because of his pain as well as going emotional as he expressed the reasons he believes might have caused his health condition were posted.

Doc Willie Ong said that his sarcoma is blocking his esophagus thus, it is hard for him to swallow. He also revealed that the doctors cannot perform a surgery on it so they attack the cancer cells in treating him.

“I think I got all these pain from negative thoughts, negative emotion, from all the hurt, all the bashing I got from the 2022 vice presidential campaign,” the cardiologist said.

According to Doc Willie, he just ran for vice president and he did not do anything wrong to be bashed. He stressed that the Filipinos don’t understand how much he loves them and his every political bid is for the people.

“If you pray for me, I think I will get well. If you keep on bashing me, I think I will die,” Doc Willie Ong said.

Based on his vlog, the cancer situated itself in a very tricky and devious manner. Despite it, he wants to be an inspiration to tell people that “if you have cancer, you have to fight”.

In 2022, Doc Willie Ong ran for vice president. He was the running-mate of former Manila Mayor Isko Moreno. However, both of the lost and placed fourth in their respective election bid.

In his announcement of his cancer diagnosis, Doc Willie stressed the positive side in this ordeal. According to him, he has a wife who takes care of him as well as two (2) children. He was also able to build a relationship with his children with whom he previously has a gap with.
