PAGASA Says Severe Tropical Storm Bebinca’s Trough and Habagat to Affect PH Weather condition

PAGASA LATEST UPDATE – The state weather bureau reported that Severe Tropical Storm Bebinca’s trough and habagat will bring rain showers over parts of the country.

On Friday (September 13, 2024), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. Severe Tropical Storm Bebinca and the southwest monsoon will affect the country’s weather condition.

PAGASA weather specialist Benison Estareja reported that habagat will bring monsoon rains over Southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao while the trough of Severe Tropical Storm Bebinca will affect the rest of Luzon.

Severe Tropical Storm Bebinca was last spotted 1,605 kilometers east of extreme Northern Luzon. It has maximum sustained winds of 95 kilometers per hour and gustiness of up to 115 kph. It is moving northwestward at 25 kph.

“Base po sa latest track ng Pagasa, posibleng pumasok ng ating area of responsibility mamayang hapon o gabi itong si Bebinca,” said Estareja.

The southwest monsoon will bring monsoon rains over MIMAROPA, Western Visayas, and Negros Occidental.

Habagat will bring cloudy skies with scattered to widespread rains and thunderstorms over Bicol Region, the southern portion of Quezon, Batangas, and the rest of Visayas as well as Mindanao.

Bebinca’s trough will bring similar weather condition over Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon.

The weather agency has advised the residents in the affected areas to take precautionary measures for possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains and severe thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over the eastern sections of Visayas and Mindanao will be rough. Palawan and the rest of Visayas and Mindanao will experience moderate to rough surrounding sea conditions. The rest of Luzon will have slight to moderate waters.

No gale warning was raised over any of the country’s seaboard, according to PAGASA.
