Fans of JMC will surely get more excited this holiday season. Based on the article in PEP, Filipino theater company Repertory Philippines announced on Sunday, September 1 that it will be staging a musical inspired by the songs of the icon.
This is titled Going Home To Christmas: A Jose Mari Chan Musical and will be held on November 29 at the Carlos P. Romulo Auditorium of the RCBC Plaza in Makati.
The theater company made the announcement on the first day of September, the start of “ber months” which also marks that start of the holiday season in the Philippines. At this time of the year, memes featuring JMC circulates on social media.
Repertory Philippines included humor in its announcement. The poster it released included a photo of Jose Mari Chan peeking from a curtain, a common scenario in memes as people start playing his Christmas songs.
