PAGASA Says Habagat to Affect PH Weather Condition
PAGASA LATEST UPDATE – The state weather bureau reported that habagat will bring scattered rain over some parts of the country.
On Thursday (August 15, 2024), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The southwest monsoon will affect the country’s weather conditions.
PAGASA weather specialist Benison Estareja reported that the southwest monsoon or Habagat will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains over Northern Luzon.

“By today asahan ang makulimlim na panahon at pagulan sa may western section ng Northern Luzon kabilang ang Ilocos Region, Batanes, and Babuyan Group of Islands,” said Estareja.
The southwest monsoon will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over the Ilocos Region, Batanes, and Babuyan Islands.
Habagat will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over the Cordillera Administrative Region and the rest of Cagayan Valley.

The localized thunderstorms will bring fair weather conditions despite chances of overcast skies and rain showers over Metro Manila and the rest of the country from Thursday afternoon to evening.
The weather agency has warned the public of possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains and severe thunderstorms.
The effects of the southwest monsoon will still be weak for Friday and over the weekend.
No weather disturbance or low-pressure area within and outside the Philippine area of responsibility.
“For the next two days wala din tayo aasahan na bagyo sa loob ng PAR,” he added.
Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over Northern and Central Luzon, as well as the rest of the country will be slight to moderate, according to PAGASA. No gale warning was raised over any of the country’s seaboard.
