Robin Padilla Promised To Protect Sandro Muhlach’s Rights

Robin Padilla has this statement about Sandro Muhlach

Senator Robin Padilla promised to protect the rights of Sparkle artist Sandro Muhlach amid his legal battle against GMA independent contractors Jojo Nones and Richard “Dode” Cruz.

The Senate Committee on Public Information and Mass Media, headed by Sen. Robin, held a hearing to discuss the “Policies of Television Networks and Artist Management Agencies in Relation to Complaints of Abuse and Harassment.” Sandro, along with his father Nino Muhlach, as well as the accused were invited to the hearing.

During the first session, Nones and Cruz did not attend. However, because a subpoena was issued, they were prompted to attend the next session. Both of them denied that they harassed Sandro.

The 23-year-old actor filed a complaint against Nones and Cruz because the independent contractors allegedly harassed him in their hotel room after the GMA Gala 2024.

In a previous statement, Nones and Cruz’s legal counsel, Atty. Maggie Abraham-Garduque, shared a text message from Sandro. She said that it was the actor who texted Nones, ‘Andyan pa ba kayo sir Baka po pwede dumaan saglit haha.’

This was contradicted by Nino Muhlach during the senate hearing. He showed the conversation that happened between his son and Nones.

Sen. Bong Revilla believed Sandro Muhlach‘s statement. The lawmaker said that a day after the supposed incident he talked to the young actor who was shaking.

Sen. Robin Padilla also showed support for the 23-year-old actor. He said that even though the senate committee that he is handling is not the court that can declare that someone is guilty or not but they will definitely protect Sandro’s rights.

Hindi po kami Huwes. Hindi hukuman ito. Hindi namin papel iyan. Poproteksiyunan po namin ang inyong karapatan dito. Katulad po ng pag-poprotect sa inyo ng ating mga law enforcement,” the actor-turned-politician said.

Meanwhile, during the senate hearing, Sen. Jinggoy Estrada asked Nino Muhlach how Ogie Diaz knew about what happened to Sandro Muhlach. The former Child Wonder said that the information that reached Ogie did not come from their camp.
