Karylle was very close to her father. She showed her loved for him in a recent Instagram post highlighting his life. Through her post, the It’s Showtime host announced the sad news to the public.
Karylle said that her father was well-loved man who lived his life fully. She recalled how her father was when he was living.
For the singer, her dad was always a presence in a room but he made everyone felt seen and heard. “He, too, was always seen and heard with his handsome “cute” face, youthful porma, and booming voice,” Karylle said about her father.
She also said that her dad was a great guy who makes other people’s day brighter. Karylle described Modesto as someone who loved outdoor adventures as he liked having picnics, playing frisbee or basketball. He loved having fun. “He was always in for the fun!” she shared.
Karylle said that she felt lucky to have a dad like him and he will truly be missed. Modesto also loved to take photos and his safe was filled with them. He wanted to treasure people who were close to him.
The singer-actress also recalled the time when her father “escaped death.” Modesto was supposed to be on the flight that tragically crashed on July 28, 1963, with the unfortunate 24 Boy Scouts from the Philippines going to Greece for the 11th World Scout Jamboree. Karylle shared that fortunately, her grandparents did not allow her dad to go at that time.
“It means so much to me that he saw my play 4 times (four!). “Little Shop of Horrors” was our favorite movie and, like him, a happy part of my childhood. It breaks my heart that I couldn’t have spent more time with him,” she said.
