Actor Niño Muhlach Appears at Senate Hearing over Son Sandro’s Complaint vs. GMA-7 “Independent Contractors”
NIÑO MUHLACH – The actor affirmed that he has talked to the GMA-7 “independent contractors” involved in an issue with his son, Sandro.
The issue between Sandro Muhlach and two (2) “independent contractors” of the GMA-7 network has caught the attention of the social media community. Prior to the confirmation of the issue, rumors stating that Sandro was taken advantage of by two (2) executives of the Kapuso network crossed the surface.
Shortly after the rumors circulated on social media, Sandro Muhlach filed a complaint against Jojo Nones and Richard Cruz who were named by the GMA-7 network as “independent contractors”. He has filed a complaint before the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) and the human resources of the Kapuso network.
The Muhlach family is strongly in the pursuit of seeking justice for what allegedly happened to Sandro in a hotel. His father, Niño Muhlach, initially posted a warning that he will finish what the then-unidentified persons have started.
Amid the ongoing investigations of the National Bureau of Investigation and the GMA network, the Senate invited Sandro Muhlach, the accused GMA-7 contractor, and several others into a hearing of the issue.
However, prior to the inquiry, Jojo Nones and Richard Cruz said they won’t attend the Senate hearing. At the hearing, Sandro Muhlach was also absent but his father, Niño Muhlach, appeared and spoke his side.
Niño was emotional while speaking on his son’s ordeal. According to the actor, Sandro first opened up to his younger brother, Alonzo, telling him his hope that he will not go through what he has go through. He claimed that his son was shaking and can barely hold his phone when he was telling him what happened.
Niño Muhlach affirmed that he has talked to the two (2) GMA-7 “independent contractors”, Jojo Nones and Richard Cruz, along with GMA Network Senior Vice President for Programming, Talent Management, Worldwide, and Support Group, Atty. Annette Gozon-Valdes. He shared that Nones and Cruz have apologized to him and he has forgiven them.
“Ako tao lang ako eh. Diyos nga na marunong mag patawad. Kaya ko kayo patawarin pero kailangan pagbayaran niyo ‘yung ginawa niyo,” the actor said.
Currently, Nones and Cruz are under a preventive suspension. While they are independent contractors, Atty. Gozon stressed that they are still under the Code of Conduct set by the Kapuso network. The Senate moved to issue a subpoena against Nones and Cruz for their absence at the inquiry.
