The Sandro Muhlach-GMA contractors continue to gain attention
The complaint filed by Sparkle artist Sandro Muhlach against GMA independent contractors Jojo Nones and Richard Cruz is set to have a Senate hearing.
These past few days, social media and the world of entertainment were shaken by the harassment complaint filed by the son of seasoned actor Nino Muhlach. Allegedly, Nones and Cruz invited Sandro to their hotel room after the GMA Gala 2024.
It was alleged that the actor was forced to drink an unknown substance that made him fall asleep and allegedly that the harassment happened after that.
However, Nones and Cruz’s camp defended and reacted to the social media comments condemning them. Just recently, their legal counsel, Atty. Maggie Abraham-Garduque revealed that based on the text messages, it was Sandro who asked Nones if it was okay for him to go to their hotel room. She also said that Sandro filed a s=xual harassment complaint and not rape.
The camp of the accused also seeks dismissal of the complaint. The issue continues to get more attention, especially after singer-theater actor Gerald Santos who had the same experience in the past.
Based on the article in PEP, there will be a Senate hearing on August 7, 2024, Wednesday. Senator Robin Padilla is the chairman of the Senate Public Information and Mass Media Committee which is in charge of the hearing.
Sandro, as well as, Nones and Cruz are invited but they haven’t confirmed yet if they will attend the hearing. Aside from them, the Senate also sent an invitation to GMA Network and Sparkle GMA Artists Center, and its legal representative Atty. Diokno.
GMA Labor Relations manager Atty. Fidel Asuncion and HR representative na si Fidel Asuncion are also invited. Certain National Bureau Investigation (NBI) personnel were also invited as Sandro filed a complaint at the agency.
