PNP To Re-Assign Recalled Davao Cops Back as Sara Duterte’s Security

Sen. Bato Makes Request to PNP Over VP Sara Duterte’s Security Detail

PNP – The Philippine National Police committed to re-assign the recalled cops from Davao City back as security detail of Vice President Sara Duterte.

The issue between Vice Pres. Sara Duterte and the Philippine National Police has caught the attention of countless people. It started when 75 cops assigned for the security of Vice Pres. Duterte were relieved.

Initially, the Vice President assured the public that the removal of 75 cops assigned for her security detail will not affect her work. However, it seems like the next interviews of Philippine National Police chief Rommel Francisco Marbil mentioning her did not sit well with the Vice President.

Vice Pres. Duterte released an open letter for PNP chief Rommel Marbil. She contested the claims of the police chief in his interviews. She negated his claim that they made a request to the Office of the Vice President regarding the recall of the 75 cops assigned for her security.

According to Vice Pres. Sara Duterte, the PNP did not make any request and only informed the OVP over the recall of 75 policemen and policewomen assigned for her security. She also downplayed Marbil’s claim that they see no threat against the Vice President.

Duterte recalled the malicious circulation of her video when she was at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) for her departure to a personal trip. The OVP previously confirmed that the Vice President left the Philippines amid the onslaught of Typhoon Carina. Undeniably, it earned the Vice President backlash.

Vice Pres. Duterte also claimed that there was police “casing” in the area where she and her family reside. PNP denied the “casing” allegations of the Vice President. Several lawmakers expressed their concern for the safety of the Vice President.

Recently, during a Senate hearing, Senator Bato dela Rosa made a request to the Philippine National Police to re-assign the PNP cops who were recalled back as security detail of Vice Pres. Sara Duterte. Based on a report on GMA News, the lawmaker told police chief Marbil that he does not have to re-assign all the 75 cops relieved and only those who are trusted cops of the Vice President from Davao.

The PNP Chief committed to re-assign the cops from Davao City who were recently recalled back for the security of Vice Pres. Sara Duterte.

Vice Pres. Sara Duterte previously asked for her family’s protection. According to the Vice President, her allies and supporters do not have to worry about her safety as risks come along with her job as public servant. However, she appealed for the safety of her mother, husband, and children.
