In a new video, Carlos Yulo clarifies the issues surrounding his relationship with his mother.
Amid the victory, “The Golden Boy” Carlos Yulo faces controversy because of his mother and finally, he breaks his silence about this.
Two-time Olympic gold medalist Carlos Yulo brought so much pride for the country after stealing two gold medals at the Paris Olympics 2024 in a row. The Filipino gymnast is being awaited by multi-million peso incentives here in the Philippines and a hero’s welcome for his terrific contribution in PH sports.
Yulo’s first Olympics 2024 gold medal was from the men’s floor exercise with the competition at the Bercy Arena on August 3.
Yulo’s second golden feat happened the next day during the vault final event. This win made his incentives swell among the flurry of gifts that the government and local brands have pledged to reward him.
However, instead of focusing on his victory, his mother came forward in an interview with claims that created a stir online. Finally breaking his silence, the two-time Olympic gold medalist addressed the issue one by one with the intention to put a rest on it.
First thing he clarified was the incentives he received from the World Championships his mother claimed to be in 2021 but according to him, it was in 2022. What he knows is that he received six-digit figure as incentives and not just Php 70,000.00 because he was able to get two medals in that competition.
According to him, his mother already received it without telling him and only he have known about it when he asked. He did not receive it and did not look for it anymore. What he just wanted is to know where his incentives went to.
He pointed this out to her as the money was used without his consent.
Defending his girlfriend, he stressed that his girlfriend came from Australia which makes her ways from dressing up and behavior different from the women here in the Philippines. As for the money, he shared that his girlfriend earns her own income.
Her travels and other things she does all came from her hard-earned money and not from him. Yulo even shared that sometimes, it was her who spends money for him.
“Bakit naman po ako mauubos? Gaya ng sabi ko, si Chloe po may sarili po siyang income,” he said.
He also revealed that it was actually his mother who holds his bank account that receives his monthly allowance as a gymnast. The moment he got his card was the moment he knew that the money were all withdrawn and he has the bank statements of the withdrawals done.
Another issue he discussed was the root of their conflict. He confirmed that the gap between him and his mother started because of his girlfriend. From the start, she doesn’t like Chloe already.
