Liza Soberano On Make-up Shaming

Liza Soberano stressed the importance of freedom to express one’s self

Actress Liza Soberano shared her thoughts on people criticizing other people wearing make-up as how they want it to be.

Liza is one of the most beautiful celebrities of her generation in the Philippine entertainment industry. Her beauty is now being appreciated internationally as she has become more visible abroad after pursuing a career in Hollywood.

Make-up is a major part of a celebrity’s life. It is part of their daily routine as celebrities, influencers, or endorsers. For some, wearing make-up has become a self-expression. However, there are people who are not fond of seeing other people wearing make-up.

In a recent interview, based on the article in PEP, Liza Soberano reacted to those who are doing make-up shaming.

I just, I think that’s very odd. Make-up is almost like, well it’s not almost, it is just like within any other art, um, like an avenue of expression,” the actress said, adding that it is just on a different canvas and it is on a human being.

The actress also said that just like art, in make-up, different colors are also being used to express themselves or to channel a certain mood, emotion, or energy.

For her, there is no issue with wearing make-up, especially if this enhances self-confidence. She personally loves putting make-up on her face to boost her confidence. Liza called make-up as her safety blanket.

Something that gives me confidence and courage to face any, I don’t know, challenge that is thrown my way or any character that is given to me…” she said.

Liza Soberano said that ordinary people most probably have this reason for wearing make-up in their everyday lives. The actress also stressed that she does not see why other people would shame those who wear make-up and just want to look their best.
